The Event

A beloved tradition for 44 years, That BIG Book Sale is a 4-day event attracting over 4,000 book lovers! The annual event showcases a vast collection of more than 50,000 books, and provides a unique opportunity for the community to empower local literacy at the 18 branches of the Charleston County Library and beyond!

While the primary goal of that BIG Book Sale is to support library programs and local literacy, it also serves as a celebration of literature and community spirit. Attendees have the chance to discover new authors, find rare editions and meet fellow book enthusiasts. It is an event that brings people together, united by a shared passion for books and learning!

Thursday May 14th, 4.00-7.00pm: Members Night & Sponsor Reception

Friday May 15th, 9.00am-7.00pm: Book Sale & Local Authors

Saturday May 16th, 9.00am-5.00pm: Book Sale & Local Authors (Children’s Authors 9.00am-12.00pm)

Sunday May 17th, 10.00am-3.30pm: Book Sale & Local Authors (Sunday Special)
